This weekend Bry competed in his sixth 100-mile Leadville, CO bike race. And although it was not Bry's favorite race (ie: his time was not as fast as he would have liked) it was exciting because . . . hold onto your horses!!! . . . Lance Armstrong did the race as well!!! Bry was seated in the top 100 so he was in the same coral as Lance Armstrong!!! I had no idea I was marrying such an athlete! Oh, my!
The day before the race, Bry was late for the pre-race meeting and decided to just listen outside the door which was behind the front stage. He was standing there listening when Lance Armstrong came walking up with Chris Carmichael (his long-time friend and trainer through 'the tour'.) Bry stood there while Fox 13 interviewed Lance (click this link to see actual photos!) and then asked Lance if he would sign his shirt for Susan (the wife of our biker/blogger friend who is dieing of cancer). Now, ya really gotta hold onto them horsies . . . then Lance put his hand on Bry's shoulder and chit chatted while he signed the Bry's shirt! Oh, my!!
Lance ended up losing the race by 2 minutes to six time reigning champion Dave Weins, but we got some great shots of Lance before and during the race. Take special note of Cheri cheering as Lance goes by! It was a very tricky shot to get! -- we practiced many times before he came by. It was a fun week-end.

Wow Bry--You are famous!!! Hangin' with Lance--chit chattin'--How sad that we didn't even come up--we were wanting to -and didn't, once again--Where's the support? Next year right?--We'll be there!
Once again I'm jealous. For the record, I missed Lance be about 1 minute at the NYC marathon last year.

Way cool! Bry the young buck does it again. Maybe someday I can get on my spinner again--it doesn't sound too fun yet after just having a baby. :)
